Track 03 of 9

Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation

Cardiac rehab, pulmonary rehab and chronic disease management.

Cardiopulmonary rehabilitation is being redefined by hybrid and home-based delivery models, post-COVID syndrome cohorts, and integration with disease-modifying pharmacotherapy. The track will address phase II/III cardiac rehab after PCI, CABG, TAVR, and LVAD implantation; pulmonary rehab in COPD, ILD, and post-lung-transplant populations; and structured exercise programming alongside SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 agonists. Long COVID and post-acute sequelae of SARS-CoV-2 will receive dedicated sessions, including autonomic dysfunction, post-exertional malaise pacing, and graded return-to-activity protocols. Telemonitored home-based cardiac rehabilitation evidence and reimbursement pathways will be reviewed.

Focus areas
  • Home-based and hybrid cardiac rehab: outcomes and reimbursement
  • Rehab after TAVR, LVAD, and heart transplantation
  • Pulmonary rehab in COPD, ILD, and post-lung-transplant care
  • Long COVID rehabilitation: autonomic dysfunction, PEM pacing
  • Exercise prescription with SGLT2 inhibitors and GLP-1 agonists
  • CPET-guided individualized exercise prescription
  • Inspiratory muscle training and airway clearance techniques
